Domaine Le Vieux Chêne

In the area of the ‘Cotes Catalanes’ in the hills between the Mediterranean sea and the Pyrenees mountain range, you will find the beautiful wine estate “Domaine Le Vieux Chene”. Here the magical Catalonian rose wine gets created by the winemaker Denis Sarda who look after his estate together with his father. The Sardas has an ‘extra’ family member, who helps taking care of the plowing tasks – The Icelandic horse called Venice who is always by their side.

The Sardas are ecologically conscious by heart and has a passion of taking deep care of their 35 hectare vineyard, certificated sustainable agricultural, by Terra Vitis and therefore banning pesticides and harmful products.

 

The wines are planted on clay and limestone soils on the hills and sometimes they are swept by the wind from the sea. When making their wines the grapes are hand harvested and gently pressed with a pneumatic vertical press. Fermentation they keep at a low temperature to get the most out of the fruits.
